Did you know that breathing can help you control momentary stress? Or, to be more specific, abdominal breathing. That’s right – breathing correctly is something we have to learn how to do. And this means breathing with our abdomen…
But it can be difficult to learn as it requires us to be aware of how we breathe. By breathing in through the nostrils, our chest expands and by breathing out through the mouth, it empties. This form of abdominal breathing both aids muscle relaxation and helps to combat stress. It is something that people who do yoga or relaxation therapy have learnt how to master.
