Sleep can help prevent children becoming overweight …

Let your children sleep on … According to an American study, the more sleep children get, the less likely they are to become overweight. A finding to be taken seriously as the study in question involved more than 2,000 children between the ages of 3 and 12 and was conducted over the course of 5 years.

Researchers calculated the number of hours of sleep these children had. But they also took into account the time they went to bed and when they woke up. Children who had an hour’s extra sleep had a 36% lower risk of being overweight than those who did not. A fact worth bearing in mind …
