Smoking can seriously affect… your looks
Everyone knows that smoking carries with it serious health risks. But did you know that cigarettes can also affect our appearance?
The fact is that cigarette smoke and tar permeate our skin, seep in through our pores and encourage blackheads. The skin becomes dry and skin tone becomes dull. So if you’re a smoker – whether male or female – it’s important to cleanse your skin regularly and thoroughly.
The blood vessels are also affected and carry less oxygen because of smoking. This means that the skin becomes more delicate and develops wrinkles more quickly, especially around the mouth. And finally, cigarette smoke has a drying affect on the eyes (not good news if you wear contact lenses!). All of which are extra reasons for quitting smoking sooner rather than later, don’t you think?
