The list of medicines officially out of stock in Lebanese hospitals

Faced with the influx of thousands of injured and given the general embargo imposed on Lebanon by Israel, local hospitals are beginning to suffer serious shortages of essential medical products. Here is the list circulated by the Lebanese Higher Relief Council, an emergency body set up by the Lebanese government:
- Intravenous antibiotics
- Anti-hypertensors
- Insulin
- Oral hypoglycaemic agents
- Prograf and Sandimmun Neoral (two anti-rejection products for transplants)
- Diuretics
- Filters and tubes for dialysis
- Powdered milk for infants
- Tetaglobulin (anti-tetanus serum)
- Gauze and bandages
- Empty blood bags
- Suturing material
- Splints for fractures (made from metal or plastic)
- Hydrocortisone
- Antibiotics for children (syrup)
- Antipyretic medicine for children (paracetamol)
- Erythropoietin
- Factor VII
- Human serum albumin in solution
- Mechanical handsealers
- Suction catheters
- Endotracheal tubes
- Intra-abdominal drains (Hemovac JB)
- Anaesthetics
- Low molecular weight heparin
