Time for bronchiolitis again

Bronchiolitis is back. Every year in France, 30% of the under twos – in other words 460,000 infants – are affected by an epidemic which usually starts in mid-October and reaches a peak in December, ending at the end of winter.
In 2004, a French study compared the treatment strategies introduced by paediatricians, allopaths and homeopaths. They appear to be equally effective, although episodes appear to be shorter and have fewer complications when infants are treated by homeopaths. The authors concluded that taking homeopathic medicine was also the least expensive treatment.
Here is some advice on how to reduce the number of cases: wash your hands with water and soap before handling a baby, do not kiss the infant on the face when you have a cold, do not swap bottles, dummies or cutlery. Lastly, avoid much-frequented spots if possible, such as supermarkets, public transport... where there are always people with colds.
