Tips to whet your morning appetite
Too many young children, teenagers and adults neglect their breakfast. This essential morning meal arrives too early for the appetites of some. Perhaps they’re still half asleep or ate too much the night before – there many reasons are given. Here are a few handy tips to whet your appetite, from the moment you wake up!
Eat your evening meal around 7 pm. If you eat your evening meal reasonably early – around 7 pm or 7.30 pm – you will go to sleep more easily that night and, logically, you will feel hungrier the following morning. If you don’t have to force yourself to eat at breakfast time, it will help you maintain a good biological rhythm. Also, in the evening avoid eating a lot or too much fat or food that is hard to digest. You body will not have time to digest properly before you head out to the office or off to school the next morning.
Get up earlier. People who go to bed late are those most likely to skip breakfast. They often get up only shortly before leaving for work or school and don’t feel hungry in the morning. In fact, their body takes longer to come to. If this is you, an extra thirty minutes or so can be enough. So set your alarm clock a little earlier. This also applies if it’s your child that has this problem. You could try waking him up gently, giving him time to come to. After playing or reading for a little while, his appetite will come naturally.
Eating should be a pleasure. So don’t forget to enjoy it by choosing food that you like! Cereals, bread and fruit, cheese or even sausage, egg or ham – the choice is vast. Accompany this with a hot or cold drink for the perfect breakfast. And make enough time to sit down and eat at the table so that you can really savour the most important meal of the day.
