When Celebrities Play at Picasso!
[mis à jour le 11 October 2006 à 17h11]
A new fundraising venture has been launched in France… Celebrities have produced a picture that will be sold at auction, with the proceeds going to the Gustave Roussy Institute near Paris. Altogether, 100 of them have given their time to this. The “100 Hommes pour la Vie” (100 Men for Life) project aims to raise awareness of prostate cancer, which every year affects some 40,000 French men and kills almost 10,000.
The proceeds from the sale of these pictures will go to support a research project as well as the publication of an information leaflet. If you would like to view these artworks, they are on exhibition from 12-16 October from 11am to 7pm at the Hôtel Dassault-Artcurial, at the Rond-point des Champs-Elysées in Paris. Quite a place… Admission is free. The auction itself will take place on 16 October at 7pm. Source: Institut Gustave Roussy, September 2006
