According to a report originated by the “ in Atlanta, 40% of all Americans have taken vitamin capsules during the month prior to the survey.
Indeed, these so-called dietary supplements are top-sellers in the US, even more than in Europe. The most sought after varieties are vitamins C, B12, B6, B1 and B2, E, A and D. So that you don’t forget, let’s remind you that you can also find them in commonly available food stuff.
You will get plenty vitamin C in fruits – especially citrus, oranges and grapefruits – and some vegetables. Do you know cabbage and peppers – green as well as red ones – are real goodies for vitamin C, almost just as much as kiwi fruit ?
Group B vitamins belong to brown rice, yeast extract – go for Marmite ! – mushrooms and liver. If you are fond of chocolate, you’re right : it’s crammed with vitamin E, just like sunflower, egg yolk and liver. As for vitamin D, you should get it from fish liver and dairy products. But don’t you forget that you will never be able to absorb it if you don’t expose to sunlight. Please do so moderately, while exercising. This will further contribute to keeping you strong bones through menarche, a period when your bone mass index is dropping faster…
